Graduate student Hyeong-Woo Kang (advisor: Professor Sang-Yeop Kim) was selected as the 2026 Presidential Science Scholarship recipient.

The Korea Scholarship Foundation and the Ministry of Science and ICT selected a total of 277 people, including 157 undergraduate students and 120 graduate students, as new scholarship recipients for the 2026 Presidential Science Scholarship in order to support the best talents in science and engineering to grow into world-class researchers. The competition rate for graduate school selection this year was approximately 22 to 1.

The final selected graduate school Presidential Science Scholarship recipients will be awarded a scholarship certificate in the name of the President, and a scholarship of 1.5 million won per month will be provided to master's students and 2 million won per month to doctoral students.

Master's student Kang Hyeong-woo said, "I am glad that the value of the research I have accumulated at our school has been recognized," and added, "I will continue to grow as a researcher contributing to the development of aerospace materials technology in Korea."
