The research conducted in Professor Kiheon Son's laboratory was published in International Communications in Heat and Mass Transfer, an international academic journal in the field of heat and mass transfer. The journal is a SCIE-level international renowned journal that ranks in the top 7.8% of JCR standards. Master's student Minjun Kim participated in this study as the first author.

In adsorption dehumidification and drying systems, desiccant bed regeneration enables repeated use of the adsorbent and is a key process that determines the energy efficiency of the entire system. In particular, zeolite is widely used in industrial dehumidification and gas purification processes due to its excellent moisture adsorption performance, but in the thermal regeneration process to remove adsorbed moisture, heat transfer, mass transfer, adsorption equilibrium, and desorption rate interact in a complex manner, making accurate prediction difficult.

In this study, a two-dimensional axisymmetric model was constructed to analyze the adsorption and heat regeneration processes of the zeolite adsorbent packed bed. The developed model was verified by comparing it with the experimental results, and it was quantitatively confirmed that the existing one-dimensional model predicts the playback time to be shorter than the actual time.
