Among the multi-phase flow interface tracking techniques, the VOF method is frequently used in various application fields due to its volume-conserving characteristics. However, in calculating ultrasonic cavitation bubbles, the VOF method has limitations in mass conservation and calculation of geometric properties of the interface due to the nature of the algorithm.
In this study, a coupled level-set and volume-of-fluid (CLSVOF) method was developed to overcome these limitations and verified through various multiphase flow problems. Bubble-bubble and bubble-cell interactions under ultrasonic conditions were calculated, and their validity was analyzed numerically.
