Professor Seong Min Kang joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an associate professor in March 2024. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. from the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University, worked as a postdoctoral researcher at SNU's Global Frontier Center for Multiscale Energy Systems, served on the faculty of Chungnam National University (2016–2024), and was a visiting scholar at Harvard University (2023).

His Multiscale Convergence Technology Lab (MCTL) studies bioinspired nanostructured surfaces — including sticker-type multilayer antireflective films inspired by glasswing butterflies that boost flexible solar cell efficiency — along with antifogging films, functional surfaces, and tribology.
